      <image:title>Consultations - In-person Ayurvedic Consultations</image:title>
<image:caption>A typical session starts with a short education on what Ayurveda is and its basic principles. Then you will be able to share health complaints, ailments, pains, and worries. I will then ask questions about personal details including your complaints, health history, family history, your current diet, lifestyle, etc. I might ask to see your tongue, have a closer look at your eyes and fingernails, and take your pulse. Consent and boundaries are always respected so if you are not comfortable with it, we will skip it. At the end of my assessment, I will go over your Ayurvedic educational protocol. This can include an Ayurvedic interpretation of your current health state, food options (recipes are suggested when necessary), lifestyle, yoga postures, pranayama, meditation, and herbal formulations. These are tailored uniquely to your needs. You will receive a summary in PDF by e-mail. You are free to ask me any questions at any time. I offer in-person consultations at any public park or beach in Honolulu of your choice. I strongly believe in the power of nature in order to ground and help bring healing. I also provide at-home consultations if you are located in the San Francisco Bay Area, just please confirm with me first. In three forms: First-Time Ayurvedic Consultation - 1 hour and 30 minutes This is the start of the journey. This is the option if this is your first time having a consultation with me, even if you have seen other practitioners in the past. $150 Follow-Up Ayurvedic Consultation - 30 minutes The journey continues! Your evolution must be reassessed and based on how you are doing, the Ayurvedic recommendations might change. $70 Extended Follow-Up Ayurvedic Consultation - 1 hour Life can bring more surprises. If you need an extended follow-up to bring in a new issue or if you just simply want more time for discussion. $120 If you don't find an option that works for you, contact me and we can find a solution.</image:caption>

<image:title>What is Ayurveda? - As old as mankind</image:title>
<image:caption>Āyur (आयुर्) means “life” and veda (वेढ) means “knowledge" or “wisdom" in Sanskrit. Āyurveda (आयुर्वेढ) is the wisdom is life. Āyurveda is the ancient holistic medical science that originated in India. It’s estimated to be about 5,000 years old and it survived the test of time being successfully practiced all the way to modern times. Āyurveda is not just a set of instructions and rules but a discourse on the laws of nature that governs our physical, mental, and spiritual bodies. Āyurveda emphasizes prevention and health promotion. And it does so by making use of what is naturally available around you. An Ayurvedic protocol involves dietary changes, lifestyle changes, body work techniques, and the use of herbal formulations.</image:caption>

He moved to Washington, D.C. over thirty years ago as a freshman at Ivy College. Right after graduation, he attended World University’s School of Dentistry. Before opening Keene Dental in 1994, he worked for free clinics and some of the finest practices in the District. He is part of the 123 Dental Association and stays up-to-date on the latest dental discoveries. When not striving to keep his patients happy and healthy, he’s enjoys hiking with his family in Rock Creek Park.</image:caption>

      <image:title>What is Ayurveda? - Holistic = mind + body + spirit</image:title>
<image:caption>According to Āyurveda, your mind and your body are inseparable and affect each other. Specifically, Āyurveda says we have three bodies: the physical body, the subtle body, and the casual body. The physical body is where we experience life in a three-dimensional time-limited space. The subtle body (which we can not perceive with our senses) is where our bodily humours (or doshas) and our mind are. The casual body, as in the cause why you exist now, is where the soul resides as a witness of life. Āyurveda assesses the health state of all three bodies and suggests holistic recommendations for healing at all levels.</image:caption>

<image:caption>According to Āyurveda, happiness is nothing but your current state of health. The healthier you are, the happier you feel. And health is your state of harmony with nature, both your own individual nature, and the nature around you. Photograph by Kunal Gupta.</image:caption>
